Private lodge for 1 to 8 guestsReached only by boat

Your private hideaway by the sea

The lodge is yours

There is one booking at a time. Whoever is here has the whole place, which is why there are no other guests at breakfast, no one else on the terrace at six, and nobody to work around on the beach.

The staff come with it. A chef cooks in the house, a housekeeper looks after the rooms and the laundry, a gardener keeps the grounds, and a night guard is on the property. The lodge's boat and its sailor are available on request.

Inside

Built in the island’s own way

Hardwood floors, bamboo ceilings, plaster walls, shutters instead of glass, and mosquito nets over the beds.

A four-poster bed with its net tied back, in a room of plaster and hardwood with a fan-shaped headboard and louvred windows
A covered terrace with round cushioned chairs and a dining table, open to a palm tree, the sea and the hills across the bay
A four-poster bed under a white net, lit by a lamp against the bamboo wall, two woven poufs at its foot and a straw hat on the bed
A four-poster double bed under its net beneath the bamboo roof, lamps lit on either side and a round brass disc on the wall
A terrace at the foot of the house, under the palms: sun loungers, a dog asleep in the shade, the stairs to the upper floor and palm leaves woven into hearts on the trunk
A corner of the terrace: rattan armchairs with deep red cushions under a timber roof, palms and the sea beyond
A balcony under the thatched roof with a fringed hammock, the sea and a palm tree beyond the railing
The bar: carved wooden stools along a wooden counter, with a bowl of fruit and a pineapple
Sun loungers in a row in front of the lodge, palm trees, a thatched parasol and the beach running down to the sea

The table

Two terraces on the ocean, and a short menu

Meals are served on two terraces facing straight out to the ocean, and in the tropical garden behind the house when there is too much wind.

The kitchen uses only fresh produce, local first and bought in short supply chains: fruit and vegetables from the market, the local catch, vanilla from Nosy Komba and honey from Nosy Be. Breakfast, half board or full board, settled when you book, along with any allergies or diets.

Photo and film

You are welcome to film and photograph here, professional shoots included: tell us what you are planning when you write.

Before you come

  • The lodge is reached by boat. There is no road to the door: our own boat brings you over from Hell-Ville, 30 minutes away.
  • It is not suitable for guests with reduced mobility. You arrive across the beach, and there are steps and slopes through the property.
  • There are dogs on the property, worth knowing if anyone in the group is allergic or would rather not be around them.
  • The power is solar, so please charge your devices during the day and switch off fans and lights in empty rooms. That keeps power going into the evening.
  • Nosy Be is not a malaria zone, but bring mosquito spray.
